Abimbola Junaid is an independent consultant in Gender, Community, Youth, Public health and Enterprise development. Abimbola has a BA degree In English Arts, in 2011, obtained an MA degree in Social Policy and Administration from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.
Social Sustainability Campaigner: As a comrade of social and economic regeneration and development, Abimbola impacts on all, education, information and engagement on Democracy and Good Governance, Gender Equality, Malaria, HIV aids and the rest Millennium Development Goals.She volunteers, network globally attending symposiums, lectures, strategic meetings with development groups and organizations towards these common goals. She organises investment, entrepreneurial road shows, as well as workshops and trade fairs, encouraging the Diaspora/ foreign investors to engage and participate in the African markets especially to harness gender development through business engagement. She is the founder of Arise Nigerian Woman Foundation, a non-governmental organisation working towards achieving gender equality and empowerment. Speaker: She is also a passionate speaker who believes in the power of the spoken word as an effective tool to connect her listener’s lives to their purpose and life good causes. She spends her time delivering fit for purpose talks at diverse public and private engagements around the globe.
Coach/ Mentor: As a young African woman, a survivor, who has stuck to her own dreams and vision of self actualization, she is a campaigner for women’s rights and development, a youth vanguard coaching and mentoring other young women and girls to build their confidence, self belief and health by making informed choices early on in life.
Awards& achievements: In 2011, She was nominated as a promising black leader in the UK along 25 others in a highly competitive screening of over 600 applicants, for a six month Member of Parliament shadowing scheme by Operation Black Vote, an advocacy organisation in the UK Campaigning and recruiting tirelessly for increased black minority representation in politics and public life, www.obv.org.uk and shadowed the UK Labour Party Deputy Leader Rt.Hon. Harriet Harman www.harrietharman.org and will apply the acquired skills and knowledge in her new role as a parliamentary ambassador, to encourage others especially women to become more involved in the political process, locally, nationally and globally.
In 2011, she was awarded a future leader of Nigeria and Youth ambassador by the Mass Communication Students of the Lagos State Polytechnic, Lagos.
In 2010 she was made an ambassador for Peace by the Universal Peace Federation, a consultative office with the United Nations.
Social Consultant/Trainer: Borrowing from her 12years active community development career in the United Kingdom, runs AJ Real Life Consult an outfit that collaborates and executes for/with individuals, public and private and non-governmental organizations, services on gender, youth and community development such as projects, advocacy, social awareness/sensitizing campaigns, capacity building exercises, skills acquisitions and training, self development and mentoring, regeneration strategies and delivery, peace negotiation and conflict resolution.
